Q: With the imposed 2017 age group categories, my child is younger and a grade below those in the same age group. Is there a way to play my child down an age group category?
A: Per US Soccer regulations, age groups are determined by birth year alone. Although it may seem like a stretch for the younger aged kids in each category, they will be in the company of other children relative to their age. This new standard is intended to help create clarity, improve understanding about developmental progress, and enhance playing environments as a part of the U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives (PDI’s). Please contact us if you would like to discuss your child’s unique situation.
Q: When and where are Rec soccer games?
A: Boys and COED games are held on Saturdays during the time frame of 8am-11am. Girls games are held on Sundays during the time frame of 1pm-3pm. Games are scheduled in 1-hour slots for U6-U12, and longer for U12-U19.
Q: What is the Rec evaluation process, and can my child still play with their friends?
A: We introduced short and easy preseason evaluations for the players in U6-U8 age groups in an effort to create more balanced teams. A quick (15-minute) fun set of drills will allow Team Coordinators to build balanced rosters with veteran and new players, ensuring a better overall experience during the season. All single friend requests will be honored and all large group friend requests will be considered. Please name the requested friend(s) during the online registration process.
